Allergen Immunotherapy: The old and the new!

Allergen immunotherpy,allergy injections or drops under the tongue or swallowed, is the only disease-modifying therapy for allergic conditions. Injections (SCIT) and drops (SLIT) are both effective and take 3-5 yrs for maximum long-term benefit. SLIT is safer but not FDA approved in US and thus not covered by insurance.
